Mrs. Sarah Wilcox
Social Studies Teacher Author
Hello teacher friends! I am a history teacher with over 6 years of experience in the classroom, and many more to come. I am also a mother, a wife, an amateur of many random hobbies. My favorite hobby is crafting engaging lesson plans and activities for all age levels, but mostly for secondary social studies. I truly enjoy creating educational resources and learning history. I believe that history isn't just about dates and facts—it's about stories that connect us to our past and help us understand our present. My goal is to make history come alive for my students through engaging lessons, interactive activities, and thought-provoking discussions.
My Teaching Philosophy
Student-Centered Learning
I believe in encouraging students to be active participants in their learning, and not just taking notes.
Critical Thinking
I encourage my students to question, analyze, and evaluate historical events and sources, developing their ability to think critically about the world around them.
Reading Comprehension
I believe in helping students become confident readers. I want every student to feel empowered to understand the world and express their ideas clearly.
Creative Approaches
I use a variety of creative methods to make history engaging and memorable for all learning styles.
